• WWII B-25 Bomber to Visit Mitchell, SD

    On April 17, the South Dakota Air & Space Museum will be conducting the "Raid Across South Dakota" to commemorate South Dakota's contribution to the famous Doolittle Raid of April 18, 1942! An authentic WWII B-25 bomber will be flown from Sioux Falls to Mitchell to Pierre to Rapid City and onto Ellsworth AFB where it will take part in a base event commemorating the 77th anniversary of the Raid. The Miss Mitchell plane will be in Mitchell on Friday, April 19 for a special appearance from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. This event is OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
     
    The group will be conducting history flights out of Mitchell Municipal Airport at Wright Bros. Aviation. Cost $450.00 Please pre-book a ride by visiting cafmn.org.
    In addition to rides, the group will also be giving tours and selling merchandise.
    • Passenger weight restrictions apply.
    • Passenger must be able to ingress/egress on their own.
    • Passenger must be 12 years of age or older to fly.
