• Transit Operations Supervisor

    Job Description
    This position is responsible for supervising the city's public transit program.  This individual will train, assign, direct, schedule, supervise, evaluate, and discipline personnel.  Develop a daily bus schedule and routes using dispatch software; schedule vehicle maintenance and maintain related records.  Balance and verify drivers' receipts, payment tokens, and prepare deposits.  Processes monthly billing for transit contracts & Medicaid billing.  Prepares reports for City Council, assist with grant funds, maintain: advertising, ride contracts, and department inventory.  Performs other related duties.

    Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education.  Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the work of subordinate positions to be able to answer questions and solve problems; along with one to three years experience.
    Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid Class C CDL with passenger endorsement issued by the State of South Dakota.
