    Job Description

    MHS/MCTEA is seeking a high school Architectural Design & Building Construction instructor beginning August 1, 2025. The position is open until filled.

    Requirements and Qualifications

    • A minimum three years’ work experience (6,000 hours) in the construction field.
    • Alternative certification may need to be acquired if the applicant is not K12 certified in Building Trades.
    • Pass a state and federal criminal background check.

    Preferred Skills

    • Associate’s degree preferred.
    • Passion for training with a high level of integrity, honesty, and professionalism.
    • Communicate effectively, master change, work in groups, and have strong customer orientation. 
    • Preference will be given to applicants who have related industry experience, teaching experience, evidence of teaching skills, and experience working with diverse student populations. 
    • Excellent time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail are a plus.

    The Instructor will be responsible for:

    • Teaching assigned courses; assessing student progress in classroom and laboratory settings; and developing and updating curriculum.
    • Leadership in both academic and technical areas to fulfill the educational goals and objectives of the Architectural Design & Building Construction program and the Mitchell School District.
